“…Solid samples of alkali-metal tellurites (M 2 TeO 3 ; M = K, Rb or Cs) have been heated in vacuo and the vaporisation products studied by mass spectrometry and matrix-isolation IR spectroscopy. 224 The molecular species M 2 TeO 3 are identified. Molecular K 2 TeO 3 in argon has prominent IR absorptions at 752, 742, 672, 360 and 306 cm 21 and a structure based on a pyramidal TeO 3 unit.…”

“…Tellurites, in particular K 2 TeO 3 , are not studied enough. There are some papers concerning the basic thermodynamic functions of the state of K 2 TeO 3 , , its structure, IR spectrum, and thermal stability. , The solid K 2 TeO 3 is used as a component in the production of tellurite glasses, and the aqueous solutions of K 2 TeO 3 are suitable for producing marginally soluble tellurites from which the corresponding tellurides are prepared by reduction with H 2 or CO under heating. Some of these tellurides have interesting semiconducting properties. K 2 TeO 3 itself has a ferroelectric behavior .…”

“…Solomonik and Marenich [29,30] presented structure, force fields and vibrational spectra of alkali tellurites via ab initio calculations. Day et al [31] discussed matrix-isolation studies on the vaporization of alkali-metal tellurites on the basis of their infrared spectra.…”
