A good teaching and learning session is much more dependent on the aspects of the teacher's subject content knowledge, pedagogical content knowledge and technological content knowledge. All these elements could be developed through the teacher's continuous effort and require the teacher's professional development in using digital technology. Integrating digital technology in teaching and learning plays a big role in effective instruction. It became essential in providing a meaningful learning experience for the students. This study is a conceptualization of the trends of using technology in the teaching of statistics and probability using digital technology. This study explored the learning environment for statistics and probability. Qualitative explorations were used to identify trends in how statistics and probability websites and online applications were used. The result demonstrates the emerging trends in teaching and learning statistics and probability by integrating digital technology which could enhance students' statical and probability thinking. Hence, it can be concluded that teachers should focus more on the ability to use digital technology as well as statistical knowledge and pedagogical knowledge. The implications are teachers' effective instruction and communication, students' learning motivation and could improve students' mathematics achievement. In conclusion, this study recommended that teachers should include using digital technology in their statistics and probability teaching and learning. The development of teaching and learning skills using digital technology could enhance students' abilities like critical thinking, data analysis, and mathematical reasoning. To maximize the advantages of using digital technology in the classroom teachers need to concentrate on improving students' learning skills in probability statistics and pay attention to the technical aspect of teaching statistics and probability using digital technology.

This study aims to identify the topic of the study of mathematical modeling by highlighting publications on Google Scholar from 1951 to 2022. This study uses the Google Scholar citation database for 71 years to collect articles. The keyword used in this research is "mathematical modeling" with a filter of English documents. Simple statistical methods were used, and bibliometric analysis was performed using Publish or Perish and Vos-viewer software. This study visualizes the co-occurrence patterns of keywords and citations. This study reveals a significant research trend in the field of mathematical modeling from 71 years ago. Based on the visualization of the large cluster network map which includes mathematical modeling concepts, it is known that the health sector is dominant as the background for its presence. Study of the topic of mathematical modeling still revolves around theoretical developments, economics, industry and environment. However, there has been no study of mathematical modeling in the social and cultural fields. The conventional drug discovery approach is an expensive and time-consuming process, but its limitations have been overcome with the help of mathematical modeling and computational drug design approaches. Previously, finding a small molecular candidate as a drug against a disease was very costly and required a long time to screen a compound against a specific target. The development of novel targets and small molecular candidates against different diseases including emerging and reemerging diseases remains a major concern and necessitates the development of novel therapeutic targets as well as drug candidates as early as possible. In this regard, computational and mathematical modeling approaches for drug development are advantageous due to their fastest predictive ability and cost-effectiveness features. Computer-aided drug design (CADD) techniques utilize different computer programs as well as mathematics formulas to comprehend the interaction of a target and drugs. Traditional methods to determine small-molecule candidates as a drug have several limitations, but CADD utilizes novel methods that require little time and accurately predict a compound against a specific disease with minimal cost. Therefore, this review aims to provide a brief insight into the mathematical modeling and computational approaches for identifying a novel target and small molecular candidates for curing a specific disease. The comprehensive review mainly focuses on biological target prediction, structure-based and ligand-based drug design methods, molecular docking, virtual screening, pharmacophore modeling, quantitative structure–activity relationship (QSAR) models, molecular dynamics simulation, and MM-GBSA/MM-PBSA approaches along with valuable database resources and tools for identifying novel targets and therapeutics against a disease. This review will help researchers in a way that may open the road for the development of effective drugs and preventative measures against a disease in the future as early as possible.
