Abstract:Based on known theoretical results, the paper presents a detailed mathematical model for surface roughness and injection of gaseous products generated from thermochemical destruction of a carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer. Ablation through a rough surface has various effects on the rate of heat transfer in thermal protective materials. The numerically calculated data were compared with known data.
