Mathematical Modeling of Heat, Mass and Moisture Transfer in Catalytic Porous Media

Abstract: The discovery of ordered mesoporous materials has opened great opportunities for new applications in heterogeneous catalysis e.g. in soil purification processes. The focus of this study is the development of a mathematical model to simulate heat, mass and moisture transfer in soil arrays tacking into account catalytic micro- or nanoparticles. The nonlinear mathematical model of contaminant distribution in unsaturated catalytic porous media to the filter-trap in non-isothermal conditions is presented. The finit… Show more

“…The heated soil is characterized by the presence of maximum temperatures in the area where heat exchangers are located (surface soil), therefore, the dynamics of merging gradients and their type of movement must be investigated for a considerable soil layer (fig. 4) [6,[27][28].…”

“…Відкриття впорядкованих мезопористих матеріалів відкрило великі можливості для нових застосувань у гетерогенному каталізі, наприклад, в процесах очищення ґрунту. Таким чином у роботі [4] була виконана розробка математичної моделі для моделювання тепло-, масо-та вологообміну в ґрунтових масивах з урахуванням каталітичних мікро-або наночастинок. Була представлена нелінійна математична модель розподілу забруднень у ненасичених каталітичних пористих середовищах в неізотермічних умовах.…”

“…Similarly, we split the sub-boundary-value problems (1), ( 3) , ( 4), ( 5) and ( 6) with corresponding boundary and initial conditions ( 7)- (12) into the systems of one-dimensional equations. Mathematical conversions for similar onedimensional boundary-value problems are described in previous works [7,22]. In computation algorithm we need to find out the piezometric head distribution , h(x y,t) first, then the Darcy- 1) k + at Oy-axis.…”
