Mathematical model of a fluxgate magnetometer

Abstract: In paper analytical equations for calculate the electromotive force in the measuring coil of the fluxgate magnetometer independent of the drive signal frequency content are presented. Also, the equations for es-timation of the fluxgate sensitivity at any harmonic and for study fluxgates operation with a glance to the waveform and the polynomial approximation of the mean magnetization curve of the core are provided.

“…[ 6 ] The basic design has not yet changed; however, the conventional fluxgate sensor has been modified to incorporate micro‐technology and a printed circuit board (PCB) design [ 7 ] and finally into a digital fluxgate sensor. [ 8–13 ] Researchers explained the Fluxgate sensor operation principle, advancements, as well as, parameters of the design structure [ 24–20 ] and their mathematical derivations [ 21 ] also explained in review papers. Some of the review papers focused on the fluxgate sensor's applicability like in geographical exploration, [ 22 ] military's, [ 23 ] and space sciences, [ 18,24 ] non‐destructive testing [ 25,26 ] and biomedical applications.…”
