$$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 2 supersymmetric S-folds

Abstract: Multi-parametric families of AdS 4 vacua with various amounts of supersymmetry and residual gauge symmetry are found in the [SO(1, 1) × SO(6)] ⋉ R 12 maximal supergravity that arises from the reduction of type IIB supergravity on R × S 5 . These provide natural candidates to holographically describe new strongly coupled three-dimensional CFT's which are localised on interfaces of N = 4 super-Yang-Mills theory. One such AdS 4 vacua features a symmetry enhancement to SU(2) × U(1) while preserving N = 2 supersymm… Show more

“…Note added. While we were finalizing this paper we became aware of the recent work in [32] which has partial overlap with our results in section 3.3. The method to obtain the N = 2 J-fold solution employed in [32] is based on four-dimensional gauged supergravity and differs from our approach.…”

“…Here α, β = 1, 2 andα,β are 4d chiral and anti-chiral spinor indices respectively. They are raised and lowered by the 38 See [118][119][120][121] for corresponding solutions in IIB supergravity.…”

“…Another ambitious, but worthwhile direction is to attempt to classify the J-fold backgrounds in type IIB on S 5 × S 1 . This is essentially equivalent to classifying the vacua of the four-dimensional supergravity used in [21,22,23]. As we have seen in recent months, the techniques of machine learning could be invaluable in this direction [30,31,27,28].…”

“…Instead of the dilaton being periodic around the compactified circle it has an SL(2, Z) monodromy. It is worth noting that these AdS 4 backgrounds (but not their Janus parent) can be obtained as solutions of a four-dimensional supergravity [21,22,23] which are constructed as a truncation of type IIB on S 5 × R.…”
