Maternal occupation during pregnancy, birth weight, and length of gestation: combined analysis of 13 European birth cohorts

Abstract: This large European study shows that employment during pregnancy, as compared to non-employment, is associated with a lower risk of preterm delivery. Being employed as a nurse is associated with favorable birth outcomes whereas food industry employment is associated with less favorable pregnancy outcomes. This study provides a useful platform on which to base further prospective studies.
