Materials Selection, Synthesis, and Dielectrical Properties of PVC Nanocomposites

Abstract: Materials selection process for electrical insulation application was carried out using Cambridge Engineering Selector (CES) program. Melt mixing technique was applied to prepare polyvinyl-chloride- (PVC-) nanofumed silica and nanomontmorillonite clay composites. Surface analysis and particles dispersibility were examined using scanning electron microscope. Dielectrical properties were assessed using Hipot tester. An experimental work for dielectric loss of the nanocomposite materials has been investigated in … Show more

“…The quality factor of the ZnAl 2 O 4 ceramic annealed at 550°C was 4592. The lattice vibrational modes, porosity, secondary phases, lattice defects, crystallizability and inner stress influence the value of Q u [24,28]. The unloaded quality factor of ZnAL 2 O 4 is consistent with that previously reported by Surendran et al [29] and Wan Nasarudin et al [30].…”

“…They investigated the structures (SEM), particle size distribution and thermal analysis (DSC) of nanocomposites obtained [21]. There are many papers concerning introduction of various nanofillers in the processing step, mainly MMT, Sarfraz [22], Mobarak [23], but here we would like to focus on the polymerization step. In the papers concerning PVC nanocomposites preparation in polymerization step the authors concentrate mainly on the effects of nanofillers amounts on the structural changes and functional properties (mechanical, thermal ones) of the final materials obtained.…”

“…Therefore, a specific technology has been bloomed and re-designed in the last 40 years, called molecular imprinting (MI). The whole process is based on adsorption technology, which is already one of the most successful techniques for pollutants removal [28][29][30][31][32][33][34].…”
