Abstract: Schluckbare Biomedizinprodukte diagnostizieren, verhindern und behandeln ein breites Spektrum von Krankheiten und waren über Jahrzehnte der Traum von Ingenieuren und Klinikern. Der steigende Stellenwert der Darmgesundheit für das allgemeine Wohlbefinden sowie die Prävalenz vieler gastrointestinaler Erkrankungen haben die Aufmerksamkeit auf diese aufstrebende Klasse medizinischer Hilfsmittel neu geweckt.
