The selection of material solutions is a basic decision-making problem that occurs in engineering issues. It affects the entire life cycle of a building structure, its safe use, maintenance costs, and a need to meet requirements for sustainable development, including recycling. This paper aims at selection of the optimum composition of HPC designed for monolithic girder structures of post-tension bridges. For the analysis, a set of 12 new-generation concretes (HPC) was designed, made, and tested. A full-scope set of evaluation criteria was created and then the optimal alternative was selected. For this purpose, an advanced hybrid algorithm combining EA FAHP (Extent Analysis Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process) and FuzzyTOPSIS (Fuzzy Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution) methods was used. The obtained results indicate a possibility for the practical application of the proposed algorithm by decision-making engineering staff. It can also be the basis for further research on application compared to other material and design solutions and, depending on the issue, different combination of aggregated methods.

Multi-Criteria Decision Making with the VIKOR and SMARTER Methods for Optimal Seller Selection from Several E-Marketplaces

Many similar products offered by several sellers in e-marketplace applications make the buyers need to be more selective when shopping. This article addresses the prioritization of the goods sellers alternatives in e-marketplace by integrating the VIKOR with the SMARTER method for the process of multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) by considering various variables as selection criteria. There are five variables of sellers in the e-marketplace that are used as selection criteria, namely: product price, number of products sold, seller score rating, number of reviews with five stars, and location distance. The SMARTER method is used to determine the criteria weight, and the VIKOR model to rank the alternative priorities according to the weighted index. The case studies are conducted on three e-marketplace in Indonesia with the most number of monthly web visitors, namely: Shopee, Tokopedia, and Bukalapak. Finally, integration of SMARTER and VIKOR method allows the buyers to get the good products at competitive prices from the optimal goods sellers in the e-marketplace.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to apply a multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) framework to evaluate distribution strategies for an e-tailer. An application of MCDM method, the hybrid DANP–VIseKriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje (VIKOR) model, is used for e-tailers’ distribution strategy evaluation. The choice of distribution strategies under various dimensions is evaluated. Design/methodology/approach The authors used a hybrid MCDM model to solve the decision-making framework, which combines Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL), DEMATEL-based analytic network process and VIKOR method. Data were collected from the experts (e-tail manager, logistics manager, operations manager and distribution center (DC) manager) using two questionnaires, first for the influential relationship among the criteria and dimensions and second for a performance rating of each alternative (distribution strategies) against each criterion. Findings DANP with VIKOR method prioritizes the distribution strategies in the following order: DC shipment, drop shipment, click and collect, store shipment and click and reserve. Performance gap was calculated based on the VIKOR method to provide distribution strategies to an e-tailer under different situations. The authors infer that in developing country, product characteristics and transportation have a major influence on deciding the distribution strategy. Practical implications Decision-making framework will provide e-tail mangers a knowledge-based understanding to select the distribution strategy under the different situations related to the performance, product, e-tailer and external characteristics for smooth order fulfillment process. The insights developed by this research provide a framework for rational decision making in distribution strategy selection in e-business. Originality/value This is the first kind of a study which offers a decision framework for e-tail managers on how to choose distribution strategies under different situations which are related to the performance, product, e-tailer and external characteristics.
