Material deformation and chip formation under single abrasive grain action
Yu. V. Dimov,
D. B Podashev
Abstract:The purpose of the work is to determine the volume of material destroyed by a single grain (microasperity), which produces elastic and plastic deformation of the material when an abrasive tool interacts with the treated surface. To calculate the intensity of deformation of the plastically displaced material of the workpiece under the action of a single grain, the slip-line technique (method of characteristics) was used. To determine the volume of material destroyed by a single grain as a result of polydeformat… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
