Metrics are key elements that can give us valuable information about the effectiveness of agile software development processes, particularly considering the Scrum environment. This study aims to learn about the metrics adopted to assess agile development processes and explore the impact of how the role performed by each member in Scrum contributed to increasing/reducing the perception of the importance of these metrics. The impact of years of experience in Scrum on this perception was also explored. To this end, a quantitative study was conducted with 191 Scrum professionals in companies based in Portugal. The results show that the Scrum role is not a determining factor, while individuals with more years of experience have a higher perception of the importance of metrics related to team performance. The same conclusion is observed for the business value metric of the product backlog and the percentage of test automation in the testing phase. The findings allow for extending the knowledge about Scrum project management processes and their teams, in addition to offering important insights into the implementation of metrics for software engineering companies that adopt Scrum.

Patients with head and neck cancer undergoing radiotherapy encounter physical and psychosocial challenges, indicating unmet needs. Mobile health technology can potentially support patients. This single-armed feasibility study included 30 patients with head and neck cancer undergoing radiotherapy. Patients were asked to use the Health Enjoy System, a mobile health support system that provides a disease-related resource for 1 week. We assessed the usability of the system and its limited efficacy in meeting patients' health information needs. The result showed that the system was well received by patients and effectively met their health information needs. They also reported free comments on the system's content, backend maintenance, and user engagement. This study supplies a foundation for further research to explore the potential benefits of the Health Enjoy System in supporting patients with head and neck cancer.

Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death worldwide. Therefore, this study aims to develop a mobile application utilizing the Internet of Things (IoT) to monitor patients’ heart rate. The study employed a quantitative approach and a pre-experimental design. The experiment was conducted according to the research plan and involved 20 patients. The Scrum methodology was used for the development of the mobile application. The results reveal a significant improvement in patient and family satisfaction after using the IoT-enabled mobile application. In addition, the average measurement time has decreased to 6.025 minutes, which represents a significant difference compared to the traditional method. The number of measurements has increased from seven to 14 per week, averaging two regular daily measurements. The measurement device has alleviated the concerns of family members who are taking care of loved ones with cardiovascular disease. This tool gives users greater peace of mind, enabling them to take accurate and reliable measurements 24/7.
