The primary goal of bioinformatics is to reveal the wealth of biological information hidden in the large amounts of data and obtain a clearer insight into the fundamental biology of organisms. Bioinformatics entails the creation and advancement of databases, algorithms, computational and statistical techniques, and theory to solve the formal and practical problems arising from the management and analysis of biological data.
