The small size and ease of amplification of mitogenomes, their low degree of gene rearrangement and fast evolutionary rate make them ideal for molecular investigation of diversity and evolutionary relationships in aquatic insects (Chen & Du, 2015; Ge, Peng, et al, 2022; Ge, Zang, et al, 2022; Ma et al, 2022; Zheng et al, 2020).
