Mass Transfer Behavior of Benzene in Hierarchically Structured ZSM-5

Abstract: A series of ZSM-5 zeolites with hierarchical porous structure were synthesized using NaOH solutions treatment method. The structural and acidity properties of hierarchical ZSM-5 zeolites as-synthesized were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), N 2 adsorption, scanning electron microscope (SEM), NH 3 -temperature programmed desorption (TPD), and pyridine Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (Py-FTIR). The adsorption and diffusion performances of benzene in h… Show more

“…They are derived from various industrial processes and applications of chemical products. The emissions of VOCs have caused severe environmental and healthy issues causing cancer and death (Zhu et al, 2016, 2019; Meng et al, 2019). Therefore, the reduction of VOCs emissions is of great significance.…”

“…In contrast to the synthesis strategies discussed above, additional porosity can also be created within zeolites by postsynthesis treatment of zeolite crystals that leads to the formation of secondary meso-macropores. Generally, the postsynthesis treatments of previously formed zeolites consist of demetalation (extraction of framework atoms) or delamination, which are realized by steam, acid, , base, , or fluoride treatments , or more refined approaches such as swelling, exfoliating, , or interlayer pillaring with amorphous silica. …”
