Mass tourism and the US National Park Service system.

Abstract: This chapter provides an overview of mass tourism as it relates to the National Park Service (NPS) in the USA. This includes a synthesis of concession policies and procedures of the US NPS and a focus on the quality, variety and type of service delivery for visitors. In addition, the benefits and impacts of tourism within the NPS are discussed, with a focus on some of the most visited national parks within the system.
