Mass Spectroscopy of Vinyl Monomers Based on Stearic Acid

Abstract: Mass spectra of a set of six vinyl monomers derived from stearic acid, each representative of one of the following groups: Vinyl ester (RCOOCHCH2), allyl ester (RCOOCH2CHCH2), acrylic ester (RCH2OCOCHCH2), methacrylic ester (RCH2OCOC[CH3]CH2), allyl ether (RCH2OCH2CHCH2), and vinyl ether (RCH2OCHCH2), where R is CH3(CH2)16‐ are discussed with respect to the influence of the chemical environment on their fragment pattern.
