Mass and Strength Variations in Yarns

Abstract: Results are reported of a study on the strength and mass variations for the same part of the yarn. Equations are derived by regression for both carded and combed cottons. A general equation is also derived by grouping all the results. Comparison was carried out of the present results with these of previous work and values obtained in mill practice; better agreement was found in the case of combed yarns than in carded yarns.
