Abstract:Marsupella aleutica, previously known from a single locality on the Aleutian Islands, was found in several specimens from the Mednyj Island (Commander Archipelago, Russia). Male plants, sporophytes and oil bodies are described for the species for the first time. The revealed variability of the species in size, color, and leaf shape is considered and differences from morphologically similar species are discussed.
