Marine Scientific Research Cooperation and Regulation in the South China Sea

Abstract: Abstract. In the South China Sea region, marine scientific research, marine environmental protection, and navigational safety are three main topics of common interest of the coastal states and are not contentious in nature. MSR as confidence-building measures should be promoted through collaborative scientific activities in the South China Sea. It is proposed that joint studies between two or more littoral states in the region are positive measures to improve the relations among the littoral states.
