“…These are not fully reflected by ad-hoc rescalings of the Higgs self-coupling. Tree-level modifications λ H /λ SM H are visible through threshold effects [49][50][51][52] (see also [46]). Effects of this type need to be contrasted with coherent Higgs coupling changes [53,54] that drive the destructive interference between the diagrams in Fig.…”

“…the top quark Yukawa coupling can be modified compared to the SM [85]. Both these effects are relevant for di-Higgs production and we include them to a one-loop computation of gg → HH production [1,3,86]. We furthermore estimate the importance of the heavier states that arise in this scenario by means of the low energy effective theorem, but find that they do not significantly impact our result and their contribution is in the percent-range, below the expected theoretical uncertainty.…”

“…We now discuss the effect of these corrections on continuum Higgs pair production. At the LHC the dominant process is given by gluon fusion [121,126,128,129]. The contributing diagrams are the triangle diagrams with the production of a Higgs or Z boson that subsequently decays into a Higgs pair, and the box diagrams [88].…”
