Marble Paper: Toward a Feminist “History of Poetry”

Abstract: Rachel Blau DuPlessis is professor of English at Temple University. Her most recent books in criticism and poetry are Genders, Races, and Religious Cultures in Modern American Poetry, 1908-1934 (2001) and Drafts 1-38, Toll (2001). In 2002 she was awarded a Pew Fellowship in the Arts for poetry, and she was named the third recipient of the Roy Harvey Pearce/Archive for New Poetry Award for lifetime contributions to American poetry as a poet-scholar.
