Maqāṣid Al-Zakāh and Poverty Alleviation: A Case Study on the Western Cape Muslims

Abstract: This article endeavours to explain how the Muslim practice of zakāh (almsgiving) is a viable model  for poverty alleviation in the Western Cape.
