Mapping trends and hotspot regarding testicular torsion: A bibliometric analysis of global research (2000–2022)

Abstract: BackgroundTesticular torsion is an acute scrotal disorder requiring immediate emergency treatment. Ischemic injury and reperfusion injury are important causes of oxidative stress and irreversible oxidative damage after testicular torsion. Although a large number of literatures have discussed the causes and treatment of testicular torsion, there is currently a lack of systematic exploration of the historical evolution of testicular torsion and the construction of a knowledge framework.MethodThe Web of Science C… Show more

“…Literature co-citation is when 2 or more publications are cited simultaneously by one or more articles. Through the co-citation relationship between the two publications in the map, we can dig out the content of common interest and clarify the close relationship between two publications ( 19 ). Through citation burst analysis, publications with high citation growth rate can be selected and tracked.…”

“…The value of S is Silhouette. Clustering with S > 0.5 is generally considered reasonable, and clustering with S > 0.7 is valid and persuasive ( 19 ). As shown in Figure 6B , 18 main keywords were obtained by visualization diagram analysis, whose Q value was 0.7297, indicating that the cluster structure is significant and the clustering effect is good.…”

“…Excluding keywords related to the subject term "lung neuroendocrine tumor", such as "lung cancer", "lung", " neuroendocrine tumor", "cancer", etc., the keywords with intermediary values ≥0.1 were shown in Table 5, FIGURE 6 CiteSpace visualization map of keywords analysis. The clustering effect of CiteSpace software mapping could be measured by Q and S values, and it was generally accepted that Q > 0.3 would indicate that the delineated clustering structure was significant; S > 0.5 was generally considered to be reasonable, and S > 0.7 indicated that the clustering was efficient and convincing (32). Keyword clustering of keyword co-occurrence profiles yielded Table 6, where the top 12 clusters all exceeded 20 in size and had high profile coefficients, with S > 0.7 except for cluster #9, proving that the results we obtained were convincing (Supplementary Figure 1).…”
