Mapping the disease-specific LupusQoL to the SF-6D

Abstract: PurposeTo derive a mapping algorithm to predict SF-6D utility scores from the non-preference-based LupusQoL and test the performance of the developed algorithm on a separate independent validation data set. MethodLupusQoL and SF-6D data were collected from 320 patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) attending routine rheumatology outpatient appointments at seven centres in the UK. Ordinary least squares (OLS) regression was used to estimate models of increasing complexity in order to predict individua… Show more

“…The LupusQoL has previously demonstrated good construct, face, discriminative, and concurrent validity, and internal and test–retest reliability, and has been mapped to the Short Form in 6 dimensions 8, 40, 41. Linguistic validations have enabled the instrument to be employed successfully in 51 countries using 77 different languages 42.…”

“…the Glasgow Outcome Scale, GOS). As target measure, EQ-5D was the most prevalent (n=15, of which only one used the 5-level version), while three studies [35,39,41] used the SF-6D, and one mapped to both EQ-5D and 15D. Among those using EQ-5D, 10 studies chose the English tariff, alone or in combination with the Dutch.…”

“…Meacock et al [46] mapped the disease-specific LupusQoL to the SF-6D, a generic preference-based measure of health-related QOL. The authors developed an algorithm for those seeking to use existing data sets to estimate health state utility values from patient responses to the LupusQoL.…”
