Mapping Hot Spots of Soil Microbiome Using Gis Technology

Abstract: Virgin forests are unique ecosystems, which can be used as etalon for basic monitoring investigation. The paper presents original results of research. The aim of this study was long term investigation of soil microbiome in primeval forest ecosystems of Carpathian Biosphere Reserve, namely the structure of microbial communities, the number of major ecological-functional groups and determining hot spots. The Hotspots mapping is realized through GIS (Geographical Information System) technology. It was found that t… Show more

“…The Prokuletska region is located in the southwestern part of the massif and is covered with granular massive sandstones. In the southern part of the Massif, the Maramorosh tectonic zone is located and consists of Cretaceous sediments, Paleocene sandstones, gridstones, aleuroliths, marlstones, argillite sediments, gray small-grained beds, and smallgrained greenish gray ysch (Symochko et al, 2021). The study area is located in a wide climate zone from temperate-warm to cold climate zone and has three different climatic zones with annual average temperatures between 0 and + 7°C and annual average precipitation between 1000 mm and 1500 mm.…”

“…Since biological indicators of soil quickly respond to natural and anthropogenic factors, they are widely used in monitoring studies, to assess soil health, and to develop environmentally safe agricultural technologies ( Rinot et al, 2019 ; Symochko et al, 2021b , 2023 ; Bhaduri et al, 2022 ).…”

“…With the increase of anthropogenic impact on the soil, the relationships in the soil-plant system are becoming more complicated, and the issue of soil interaction in the ecological system is topical (Symochko et al, 2021;Symochko et al, 2023;Litvinova et al, 2023). It should be noted that the process of degradation of acid-alkaline soil properties determined by the chemical composition of the maternal rock and by the level of application of fertilizers, especially nitrogen, by the removal of calcium with the harvest and its leaching from the soil profile (Bartkowiak et al, 2016;Smith et al, 2016).…”
