Luhak Tanah Datar is one of the luhak which is the area of natural origin of the Minangkabau as well as a cultural center known as Luhak Nan Tigo. Like other luhak, this luhak also has very thick cultural values. This study aims to describe local elements in terms of sociocultural factors that are potential supporters of social integration in the Minangkabau community in Luhak Tanah Datar, West Sumatra. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The research informants were elements of regional leadership (wali nagari), elements of youth, elements of traditional leaders, elements of religious leaders, and ordinary people (immigrants and indigenous people). The data collection techniques used were observation, interview, and documentation study. The findings in this study are that the socio-cultural elements in the Minangkabau community in Luhak Tanah Datar that can unite the community to create social integration are located in the conventional philosophical system based on the teachings of Islam, language, art, kinship system, and customs, which still strong in people's lives. Also, the maintenance of cultural elements that are still strong and make the community still exist with their customary philosophy, namely the custom of basandi syara ', syara' basandi Kitabbullah, and this becomes a guideline for every community in society so that the conditions of harmonious neighbors are neatly woven.

Penelitian ini menjelaskan fenomena jual beli sapi yang sudah dilakukan secara turun-temurun di Pasar Sapi/ Blante. Aktivitas jual beli sapi cenderung ramai pada waktu siang hari meskipun di pagi hari para pemilik sapi, penjual dan pembeli sudah mulai berdatangan ke lokasi tersebut. Pengunjung berasal dari berbagai suku bangsa dan agama yang beragam. Akan tetapi masyarakat pasar mampu mempertahan harmonisasi melalui nilai-nilai dan norma yang sudah melekat dalam kehidupan masyarakat Minahasa itu sendiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan fungsi Pasar Sapi/ Blante sebagai salah satu pasar tradisional bagi masyarakat Minahasa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu observasi dan wawancara. Informan adalalah masyarakat yang beraktivitas di Pasar Sapi/ Blante. Teori yang dipakai yakni teori Struktural Fungsional Parsons. Teknik analisa data menggunakan Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa fungsi Pasar Sapi/ Blante bagi masyarakat Minahasa adalah melestarikan sejarah pekerjaan jual beli sapi, sarana memupuk sikap toleransi, tempat berinteraksi antar masyarakat Minahasa dan masyarakat luar, implementasi falsafah hidup masyarakat Minahasa “sitou timou tumou tou", ladang mata pencaharian masyarakat, dan sebagai wadah pelestarian bahasa daerah Minahasa.

This research focuses on the forms of cultural shift of speakers of the ‘Tontemboan’ local language. The purpose of this study is to identify and describe the forms of cultural shift of local language speakers from the aspect of time/moment of use the ‘Tontemboan’ local language in Raanan Lama village, subdistrict Motoling. This research use desciptive qualitative approach. Data analysis using literature review in the form of library books and scientific articles that support. The data was obtained from the results of observations and interviews whit the community and government in the village of Raanan Lama, District of Motoling. Currently, the uses of regional languages is only during mourning services and weddings parties where only elderly parents deliver greetings. The culture of speaking local languages in the family and local language lessons at school are not as active as they used to be. In conclusion, the different conditions that occurred at different times have caused a shift in the speech culture of the Tontemboan regional language in the social system in the Raanan Lama Village. The researcher hopes that this research can be useful in future research and related special purposes.
