“…In line with the tremendous increase in tourism studies, bibliometric methods have begun to be applied for several decades (Weaver & McCleary, 1989); however, bibliometric mapping studies are relatively new (Van Eck & Waltman, 2010). Bibliometric mapping techniques applied in tourism studies have been used to analyse a variety of themes, such as corporate social responsibility (Jiddi & Ibenrissoul, 2020), destination management and marketing (Ávila-Robinson & Wakabayashi, 2018), duration of stay (Atsız, Öğretmenoğlu & Akova, 2022), co-creation (Tregua, D'Auria & Costin, 2020), international dark tourism (Xie, Wang & Lu, 2019), smart experiences (Soliman et al, 2021), world heritage (Zhang, Xiong, Liu & He, 2022), sustainable and responsible tourism paradigm (Mihalic, Mohamadi, Abbasi & Dávid, 2021), and information and communication technology (Molina-Collado et al, 2022). The techniques have also been used to review scientific trends and the output of journals (Bashir & Singh, 2022;Bashir, Singh & Sibi, 2022;Soliman et al, 2021a).…”
