“…Located in the Anatolian Highland, the geology at Hacıtugrul Tepe is composed of Tertiary sedimentary rock with thin soil layers (Pawlewicz, Steinshouer, & Gautier, 2002). Landforms around the site are gently sloped and mostly composed of erosional surfaces formed between the middle Miocene and Pleistocene (Erol, 1981;Sugai, 1992).…”

“…Important changes were made in order to make the method more constant in the flow rate and to eliminate the possible release of particles able to modify, or even to occlude, the passage of the ionized sample through the sampling cone of the ICP-MS. A change of HNO 3 concentration, from 3 to 6 M, enabled an accurate washing of Rb, whose blank concentration was measured as less than 0.005 ng g −1 . For the isotopic measurements, an MC-ICP-MS system (Nu Plasma, Nu Instruments, Wrexham, UK) was employed placing the Faraday collectors in order to obtain the following series of masses: 82 Kr, 83 Kr, 84 Sr, 85 Rb, 86 Sr, 87 Sr, 88 Sr to be used to correct the 87 Sr/ 86 Sr isotope ratio by using the exponential mass fractionation law [43]. The aim of the subsequent 87 Sr/ 86 Sr isotope ratio measurements, starting from about 0.2 g of freeze-dried sample, was firstly to Pouilly et al [139] ginseng samples (0.705-0.714), but these results were contested by Rosner [18] for the following reasons: bad Rb/ Sr separation and a less accurate check of the 85 Rb/ 86 Sr ratio during acquisition, an incomplete elimination of the interfering isotopes, at least of the main elements (K, Ca, REEs, argides and oxides), when an ICP source is used.…”

“…In order to better understand the distribution of the seeps, HYSED-RO was implemented in a GIS interface, using MapInfo Professional V. 11 (Pitney Bowes Software, Troy, NY, USA). The layers used in the evaluation of the seep occurrences are: the geological map of Romania 1:1,000,000 [45], a Digital Elevation Model (DEM) of Romania, the map of the geologic provinces in Romania [46] (Figures 2 and 3), and the geothermal map of Romania [47]. The maps were digitized and geo-referenced in WGS84 Latitude and Longitude projection.…”

“…Their geographic coordinates and features have then been stored in a GIS environment, able to manage and analyze all geographical data. In particular, the following base layers are included: tectonics [48,49]; geological provinces of Europe [46]; heat flow [47,[50][51][52]. [45], and with the main structural units of Romania (blue lines and acronyms) [48] …”
