With increasing numbers of nodes and links in supply network relationships, understanding partnership management and the required level of collaboration is important for sustainable supply network alignment. This study explores the impact of partnership orientation on partnership commitment and firm performance using a model based on social capital theory and resource dependence theory. It aims to understand the appropriate partnership orientation for the desired level of commitment and firm performance, including innovation, operational, and financial performance. Using a survey of 423 respondents representing three different partnership structure types (supplier, buyer, and parallel-aligned firms' perspectives), the relationship between partnership orientation and commitment in enhancing firm performance is investigated using structural equation modeling. Additional analysis identifies the moderating role of commitment and investment exchange on performance. The findings show that positive relationships between both investment and contractual-based partnership orientation positively contribute to partnership commitment, but the direct association between partnership commitment and firm performance type varies by partnership structure. Furthermore, (i) investment exchange level moderates the relationship between commitment and innovation and operational performance regardless of partnership structure type, (ii) negative investment exchange signals higher firm performance from the buyer firm's perspective, and (iii) positive investment exchange is absolutely necessary for financial performance from the supplier firm's perspective.

Managers at various echelons of supply chains are continuously faced with problems of examining and improving supply chain processes with the aim of improving productivity and customer service level, while reducing emissions and total costs simultaneously. This study is aimed at presenting the trends in sustainable manufacturing supply chain modelling in order to establish the modelling approaches which have predominantly been used for improving manufacturing supply chains from years 2010 to 2020. The study employs the systematic literature review methodology for reviewing articles published within the 11-year period. We proffer a classification approach for manufacturing supply chain models, grouping these models into mathematical models, simulation models, hybrid models, and their subcategories. The results showed that though there is a rising trend in the use of simulation and hybrid models, mathematical models have been used more for sustainable manufacturing supply chain modelling. The rise in the use of simulation and hybrid models can be explained by the fact that these models tend to handle uncertain and stochastic data better than mathematical models, which perform better with deterministic data. This research will aid other researchers in recognising the current gaps in manufacturing supply chain modelling in order to identify future research directions.

This paper addresses the production scheduling and inventory management in a closed‐loop supply chain that recycles both high‐quality and low‐quality cores and makes products using cores and new raw materials. The manufacturing/remanufacturing supply chain consists of a vendor and a buyer, and they collaborate under a consignment stock (CS) agreement. We investigate and compare three operation policies under the CS agreement, covering continuous and intermittent production manners and shipments of equal and unequal batch sizes. For each operation policy, we develop a mixed integer nonlinear programming model to jointly optimize the production sequence of two classes of cores, production cycle length, shipment frequency, and shipment batch sizes, with the objective of minimizing the cost rate. By analyzing the respective decisions and conducting an extensive numerical study with various scenarios, we explore the advantages and applications of each operation policy. Based on our research findings, we provide general guidelines and criteria for operation policy selection.
