“…Successful collaboration is expected to generate benefits for both a firm and its partner firm [4]. In anticipation of "digitalized supply chains of the future" (Supply Chain Management (SCM) 4.0) facilitating globalization and sustaining relationships with alternative suppliers, research on partnership management from supplier, buyer, and parallel-aligned (or competing) firms' perspectives continues to multiply [5][6][7].…”

“…Some researchers have formulated MINLP models for analysing a multi-echelon joint inventory-location problem aiming to simultaneously determine warehouse locations as well as warehouse and retailer inventory policies that minimise total operational costs (Diabat et al 2011 ; Keskin and Üster 2012 ; Zhao et al ( 2016 );;. Hariga et al ( 2017 ) proposed a MINLP for a closed-loop supply chain aiming to minimise the entire supply chain cost by optimising production cycle length, batch number and sequence, as well as inventory levels. Esmaeilikia et al ( 2014 ) developed a MINLP model incorporating various flexibility options in manufacturing, sourcing, and distribution functions for flexibility analysis of supply chains.…”

“…Hariga et al. (2017) addressed the production sequence of new products and RPs and proposed a mixed integer nonlinear programming model. Their experimental results demonstrated that in most cases, the RPs should be produced ahead of new products.…”

“…Consignment stock (CS), also known as vendor‐owned inventory, is a recent initiative in supply chain collaboration. By the CS, the vendor stocks most of the products at the buyer's warehouse but owns the products until they are sold by the buyer, and the buyer only pays for the sold products (Hariga et al., 2017; Lu et al., 2019). The collaboration governed by the CS liberates the vendor from on‐site stock and avoids rush shipment for emergency orders.…”
