Abstract:This paper describes the combination of surface engineering and powder metallurgy to create a coating with improved corrosion resistance and wear properties. A new method has been developed to manufacture corrosion-resistant surface layers on steel substrate with additional carbide reinforcement by employing a polymer-powder slurry forming and sintering.
