Abstract:Carbon black and graphite nano/micrograins and sintering additives (Al 2 O 3 and Y 2 O 3 ) were added to silicon nitride starting powder. These mixtures were mechanochemically activated several hours in a planetary type alumina ball-mill in order to achieve a homogenous mass. As an alternative to nano-and micrograins, carbon fibres were added to carbon free silicon nitride batches. After dry pressing of rectangular bars sinter-HIP was applied. Structural, morphological and compositional analyses were performed… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
