Abstract:Introduction: Peritonitis due to hollow viscus perforation is a common surgical emergency and can be life-threatening. Patients who undergo surgery for peritonitis require extensive counselling to fully understand the nature of the disease, the need for surgery, post-operative complications and the duration of hospital stay.
