Abstract:Os pacientes diabéticos estão sujeitos, quando não tratados adequadamente, a desenvolver o estado hiperglicêmico hiperosmolar (EHH), caracterizado pelo déficit na ação da insulina, o que ocasiona hiperglicemia, ou seja, alta osmolaridade.
