“…The program aims to reduce disparity across regions, and improve baseline rankings of district-level development using real-time data on 49 indicators across five thematic sectors including Health & Nutrition, Education, Infrastructure, Financial Inclusion, and Skill Development. Of particular relevance to our assessment is the program’s thrust towards increasing road connectivity and intensification of agriculture (Sarkar et al 2022; additional details available at www.niti.gov.in/aspirational-districts-programme).
