“…As noted, it might well be the case that U.S. experiences with hospitals do not generate different patient treatments and thus reinforce biases. Research on other types of services, such as education (Meier et al ), water and waste services (Bel, Fageda, and Warner ), recreational services (Eagles ; Talmage, Anderson, and Searle ), long‐term care (Amirkhanyan et al ), and so forth are needed. While historically, public nursing homes were linked to mid‐century almshouses and infectious disease sanatoriums (Watson 2009), empirical research has affirmed the superiority of government and nonprofit homes compared to for‐profit homes.…”

“…Continuing the theme, Menifield, Shin, and Strother () find that an officer's race plays no role in influencing the use of lethal force against minority suspects. Amirkhanyan et al () find that managers prioritize diversity efforts when facing higher levels of regulatory violations, and that the effect of managerial strategies for diversity on performance is conditioned by the racial composition of the clients. de Graaf and Meijer () study the presence of, and solutions to, value conflicts resulting from social media use.…”
