Managing Fuel Consumption and Emissions in the Renewed Fleet of a Transport Company

Abstract: This research shows the relationship between the energy emission parameters and CO2 equivalents for conventional fossil fuel-powered vehicles (ICEV, Internal Combustion Engine Vehicles) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) to determine the life cycle costs of the vehicles. The combination of transport policy and alternative fuels has the purpose of creating a sustainable transport system. Transport policy focuses on increasing energy efficiency and reducing the price of electric vehicles as technology advances. … Show more

“…In summary, the main advantages and disadvantages in using the vehicles available on the market are presented in Table 1. Aside from the immediate benefits provided by BEVs, in terms of a contribution as a sustainable mode of transportation [26], consumer attitudes play an important role in the widespread adoption of BEVs on the market, both in terms of the associated costs and local and national support policies. Most research has been carried out in this direction, the results obtained are based on quantitative and qualitative analyses (statistics) of some questionnaires and interpreted strictly from the consumer's point of view (attitudes and opinions) [27][28][29][30].…”

“…The crucial part of the ITS are data-driven services [8,9], which are supported by the advancements in technologies that enabled the lower cost of data collection systems. There are roughly two groups of data collection systems: (i) dedicated infrastructures which mostly consists of point detectors such as loop detectors, radar or lidar counters, and traffic cameras, and (ii) Floating Car Data (FCD) with devices mounted inside vehicle or carried by the driver, like GNSS devices or cellular data.…”
