Managers' disruptive innovation activities: the construct, measurement and validity

Abstract: PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to present results of a study that operationalizes the construct of disruptive innovation activities (DIA) at managerial level and to examine its validity.Design/methodology/approachA sequential mixed method approach is adopted in this study where a Likert-type scale to measure DIA is developed basing on the interviews of thirteen managers and conceptualization of disruptive innovation at manager level. Later, the scale validity and reliability are examined through quantitat… Show more

“…The investigation of the interaction between collaborative innovation activities, BIM application, knowledge sharing and innovation performance was a multifactor analysis problem, and SEM was often used for such problems (Cheng et al , 2016). Some other methods could also be used to investigate this type of problem, including grey clustering analysis (Wang et al , 2021), social network analysis (Jiang et al , 2019) and the sequential mixed method (Sadiq et al , 2021). However, compared with these methods, SEM had the following advantages (Ahmed and Suliman, 2020): (1) multiple dependent variables were processed simultaneously, (2) a certain measurement error was allowed and (3) relationships between latent variables could be found.…”

“…The hypothesis was tested using multiple regression analysis where job satisfaction was the dependent variable and PWID, stigmatized identity threat and professional identity threat and three interaction terms were the independent variables. To explain the theoretical overlap between independent variables, the interaction terms were included (Sadiq et al, 2020). To avoid multicollinearity, the independent variables were mean-centered before computing interaction terms (Aiken and West, 1991).…”

“…Its purpose is to strengthen the management of human resources of college teachers, so as to improve the overall level of the development and management of human resources of college teachers. Sadiq et al pointed out that due to the improvement in teachers' subject status, the special group of teachers is more suitable for people-oriented management because of their knowledge-based human resources [14]. Cerne et al, based on the relevant theories of harmonious management, put forward the idea of constructing the harmonious management model of human resources for college teachers and pointed out its operation mechanism [15].…”
