Management of trauma to the palate in toddlers

Abstract: Trauma of the palate in children is a common presentation in emergency departments. Children have a tendency to place objects in their mouths, which leaves them at risk of traumatising the oral cavity. Most traumatic injuries, including those that penetrate the palate, can be treated conservatively, but some require surgical intervention.
