Abstract: Exclusion and bypass for penetrating vascular injury remains the gold standard. Persistent hemorrhage via retrograde perfusion of the injured vessel by collateral vessels is rare and may, therefore, be overlooked as a cause of postoperative hemorrhage following bypass for vascular injury.
