Management of gundog injuries

Abstract: Gundogs suffer from numerous injuries, many of which are minor and treated by their owners or handlers. These dogs undertake a diversity of work rather than having a single role, so when veterinary treatment is sought advice should be tailored accordingly; owners will also be anxious to minimise the time off work during the UK gamebird shooting season. This article describes the types of injuries sustained by gundogs and how they can be managed, taking into account the role of the dog.
