Abstract: Massive intraoperative bleeding is a major and potentially life-threatening complication during surgical procedures. The lethal triade of hemorrhagic shock with metabolic acidosis, hypothermia and coagulopathy enhances bleeding tendency. Avoiding this vitious circle requires a well-structured and standardized procedure.
