Abstract:Dispersion of propagation constants of TE 2 modes of a thin left-handed film on a substrate with the Kerr effect is considered in a narrow frequency range near the group velocity zero of the mode. The possibility of managing such dispersion by varying the light field intensity by varying the frequency is demonstrated. Conditions under which the propagation constants do not change with a change in frequency are determined. Soliton-like wave packets are considered.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
