Abstract: Pericardial effusion is a collection of fluid in the pericardial sac that can result in symptoms such as shortness of breath, pleuritic chest pain, and/or hemodynamic instability. Malignant pleural effusions are seen in a few cancer patients and are associated with poor prognosis. Here, we present the case of a 65-year-old female with a large malignant pericardial effusion in the setting of advanced-stage lung adenocarcinoma.
