Malacological Diversity on Some Lamiaceae in the Region of Tlemcen (Northwest Algeria)

Abstract: Abstract:The region of Tlemcen is located in the northwestern part of Algeria. Its arid climate leads to the degradation of vegetation in open formation, where can be found the doum, the diss and broom. Other aromatic species such as rosemary, thyme, lavender and horehound are considered as well. The four previous aromatic species belong to the family Labiatae for their morphological and botanical characters. The authors propose to design an approach to identify the diversity of malacofauna found on these diff… Show more

“…The Mediterranean region is the habitat of a significant terrestrial mollusk richness as it receives a high rate of precipitation and is characterized by dense vegetation (Amr et al, 2018). The diversity and ecology of terrestrial gastropods in Algeria have been a subject of several recent studies (Ameur et al, 2019;Bel-hiouani et al, 2019;Cheriti et al, 2021;Damerdji, 2008Damerdji, , 2010Damerdji, , 2018Hamdi-Ourfella, Soltani, 2014;Ramdini et al, 2021a, b;in the North eastern part of Algeria. The species sampling was performed weekly throughout the spring period of the year 2013, using Barber pots and sight hunting in parcels of spontaneous vegetation.…”
