Maintenance Planning of Electric Distribution Systems—A Review

Abstract: Electric distribution systems have the objective of supplying electricity with quality and reliability to the final consumers. In order to meet both criteria, efficient maintenance programs have a vital importance mainly due to the actual increase in the requirements for distribution service quality and in technologies related to electrical networks. In this sense, the number of options and criteria for developing effective programs makes the related decision-making process a complex task. This paper presents … Show more

“…In recent years, much research has been conducted on appropriate maintenance plans for different parts of the network, with an emphasis on reducing costs, improving system performance and reliability, and reducing interruptions. In most economic studies conducted in the field of his RCM for network maintenance, the objective function is modelled to minimize the cost of network maintenance and maximize reliability [1,6] modelled preventive and corrective maintenance planning in power distribution systems given considering various criteria, including economic criteria and reliability. This study reviewed various planning methods based on indicators, probability functions, constraints, and methods applied.…”

“…The distribution network plays a crucial role in modern power systems, as it ensures that customers receive a reliable and high-quality power supply. With the integration of distributed energy, new requirements have emerged for the operation level of equipment, grid economy, and environmental sustainability (Trentini et al, 2021). This has also increased the demands on network planning, management, and maintenance (Gumpu et al, 2019).…”

“…References [1,3,4] present a comprehensive review of maintenance scheduling for generation, transmission, and distribution systems covering different economic and reliability standards; [2,5] review the uncertainty modelling techniques in power system analyses, respectively.…”
