Main Approaches to the Causes and Treatments of Periimplantitis: A Narrative Review

Abstract: Periimplantitis is an inflammatory reaction associated with the loss of bone support around the implant, and its main pathological agent is the accumulation of biofilm. The diagnosis is made through radiographic exams, depth of probe, and verification of bone loss, and if the patient presents bleeding and changes in the tissues around the implant, he may already be in the infectious process of periimplantitis.
