Magnetohydrodynamic Flow and Heat Transfer Induced by a Shrinking Sheet

Abstract: The magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) stagnation point flow over a shrinking or stretching flat sheet is investigated. The governing partial differential equations (PDEs) are reduced into a set of ordinary differential equations (ODEs) by a similarity transformation and are solved numerically with the help of MATLAB software. The numerical results obtained are for different values of the magnetic parameter M, heat generation parameter Q, Prandtl number Pr and reciprocal of magnetic Prandtl number ε. The influences of … Show more

“…Lorentz force is also applied to accelerate the seawater in the MHD ducts. Sonar detection and underwater navigation can also be identified by a magnetic field [15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22]. MHD flow over moving the needle under different physical situations is discussed by Sulochana [23] and Ramzan et al [24].…”

“…Influence of thermophoresis, radiation, and heat generation on temperature, concentration, and velocity in the appearance of MHD and free stream velocity through a cylinder and they initiated that temperature raises with the growth in thermophoresis parameter, curvature parameter, magnetic parameter, and radiation parameter as inspected by Vinita and Poply. 17 Mohd Nasir et al 18 considered the MHD flow with an induced force field past a stretching sheet. From this survey, it has been recorded that when increase in the values of the magnetic parameter, the skin friction coefficient, and local Nusselt number decline.…”
