Magnetoelectric and magnetodielectric properties of SBN–CMFO nanocomposites

Abstract: The paper reports synthesis of nanoparticles of Sr 0.5 Ba 0.5 Nb 2 O 6 (SBN) and Co 1.2-x Mn x Fe 1.8 O 4 (CMFO) via ceramic and hydroxide co-precipitation routes, respectively. The nanopowders of SBN-CMFO0.1 (MSBN0.1) and SBN-CMFO0.3 (MSBN0.3) are compacted together to form the desired magnetoelectric/magnetodielectric (ME/MD) composites. The Bi 2 O 3 is used as a sintering aid. The Bi 2 O 3 at three weight percent is observed to cause agglomeration of SBN and CMFO particles and improve the magnetomechanical … Show more

“…The composites could be either particulate or multi-layered thick/thin film heterostructures [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8]. In the second approach superlattices of ferroelectric and ferromagnetic compounds are prepared [9][10][11].…”
