Magnetized Target Fusion With Centimeter-Size Liners

Abstract: The author concentrates on the version of magnetized target fusion (MTF) that involves 3D implosions of a wall-confined plasma with the density in the compressed state 1 0 21-10 22 cm-3. Possible plasma configurations suitable for this approach are identified. The main physics issues are outlined (equilibrium, stability, transport, plasma-liner interaction, etc).
